Friday, June 20th, 5pm until *whenever*, Gibralter Point @ Toronto Islands. Let's go to the beach and play with some fire!

While we're there, I thought it'd be nice to do a little beach cleanup beforehand. Gibralter seems to be one of the least well-maintained beaches as far as trash goes and it's also my favorite, so I wanna show it some TLC. Cleanup from roughly 5-6pm and bonfire from 6pm-the last water taxi leaves!

(Put the water taxi # in yr cell phone! It is 416-203-8294 -- last ferry from Centre is at 11:45pm and last ferry from Hanlan's is at 10:30pm.)

Bring for cleanup: gloves, garbage bag, rake (hand-held gardening rakes can be found at Dollarama for a buck).

Everyone bring: a piece of firewood or fireplace log (v. important if we wanna keep the fire going -- we cannot count on there being dry firewood on the island), food, beverages of choice, fire toys/fuel, blanket/towel, etc. Bring a jacket, as this spring as been long and relentlessly autumnal. Playa wear heavily encouraged (Playa as in Burner-esque, not as in a "Player" who drops their r's.)

If you wanna burn, bring some fuel or a buck or two to throw into the fuel fund, please!

Gibralter Point is between Hanlan's Point and Centre Island. The Centre Island ferry is a bit closer if you are walking, but it might be easier to bike from Hanlan's. From Centre: head towards the pier and hang a right. You'll see the beach entrance across from the water treatment plant. From Hanlan's: head towards Centre Island and turn in just after the Gibralter Point Arts Centre (and across from water treatment center). If you get to the pier, you've gone way too far. Turn back. Look for the people looking like they're having an awesome time! If it's not us, you might just meet someone else cool....
